- General
- Are there any limitations on how much I can download?
- At the moment Download.me does not have any limitations. However we have to remind you that it is very costly to operate a service like ours. If many too many users take advantage of this, we will have to introduce limits to which we reserve the right to do so at any time. We do not like limits ourself and want to do that, but otherwise we would simply go out of business. We recommend everybody not to download more than 400 gbyte a month. However there is no hard limit and you don't need to be afraid of getting banned. We will always contact you before taking action when we think your downloading is getting out of hand.
- What is the speed limit?
- We do not limit the speed at all. We will make sure that there is always enough bandwidth available. The only limitation is your internet connection.
- Which hosters do you support?
- You can see a list of supported hosters >here<. Note that this list is not yet automatically updated and always up to date. Especially when it comes to temporary downtimes of individual hosters. We to have the list as current as possible.
- I am a free user. How much can I download and does the test volume reset?
- The sole purpose of the free testing volume is to show you that and how our service works. The current test volume is 500 mbyte and does not reset.
- Do I get better speed when I buy premium?
- No, it will be the same speed.
- Do I get access to all of your supported hosters, or just one?
- You will be able to download from all the supported hosters with premium speed.
- Why do I have to pay for your service?
- Frankly, it costs a lot to maintain a service like ours. We have to pay the filehosters, our servers as well as other things. Simple advertising does not cover all these cost.
- Can I share my account or use it for anything else then private purposes?
- Absolutely not. Please understand that our whole calculation is based on the assumption that only one person uses an account ONLY for private purposes. If we detect otherwise this can easily result in the banishment of your account!
- Registration
- When trying to register, I keep getting the message: Registration not possible. Why?
- We only allow one account per user to test our service before having to buy premium time. In the past users have abused this free test and registered dozens of accounts to be able to download for free. Unfortunately it is very expensive to operate a service like ours and we had to introduce this restriction. If you are registering for the first time, but still get this message have a closer look at the bottom of the message box. The email of the account our system recognizes as your first/primary account should be displayed there. If there is no email or an email you don't know write a short mail to our support.
- I have lost my password. Can you create me a new one?
- You can use our password recovery function located >here<. A new password will be generated for your and sent to your email address.
- I want to change my password, how?
- Go to “account” after logging in. You can change your password there.

- I wasn't able to upload a file from a particular hoster, what can I do?

- Billing
- I have just paid for premium time, but it does not show up in my account, why?
- All transactions are checked for fraudulent activity by our payment processors. It can take a few hours and in rare cases even days until a payment is cleared. Usually it takes just a few moments. Make sure to check if your credit card has actually been charged as some payments are blocked. If that is the case and the premium time hasn't been added within 48 hours, please contact our support.
- I want to buy premium time, but keep getting blocked by your system. What can I do?

There are two possibilities what could have happened. Either a) your card issuing institute has blocked our processor from charging your credit card or b) the transaction was blocked by our processor.
If you have the possibility, please check with your bank first, if they have blocked the payment attempt to us. If this is the case, ask them to remove that restriction and try again afterwards.
If your payment has been blocked by our processors, there is unfortunately little we can do about it. The risk for fraud of every transaction is automatically calculated using several criteria. If a payment attempt gets blocked, it does not necessarily mean that actual fraud is taking place. It just means that the system thinks the risk is too high. This calculation is done by our payment processors and we don't have any influcence on that.
Here are a few general tips to avoid being blocked:
1. Don't use a vpn, proxy or similar high risk connection
2. Don't try more than 3 times in a row, as this might lead to at least a temporary block
3. Try different payment options. Especially Paymentwall offers a couple. If you can't get one to work, another one might do the trick. - I want to buy premium time and have a mastercard, but you only offer Visa. What to do?
- At the moment we offer direct billing only for Visa cards. Our alternative processor, Paymentwall, however offers a variety of payment options including Mastercard.
- Do you offer Paypal as payment option?
- No, unfortunately Paypal has been very restrictive as of recently and we won't be able to offer this payment option unless they change their TOS.
- Your service doesn't work for me. Can I get a refund?

In general it is possible to get a refund, if you are not satisfied with our service. There are two exceptions however.
1. If you paid with Paymentwall we are technically not able to give you a refund. We find that impudent ourself, but because of their payment structure it is not possible. You can try and contact them yourself, but most likely won't have much luck.
2. Accounts that have been active and in use for several days with regular transfers are not eligible for refunds. - How much does premium time cost?

- How do I stop payment to Download.me?
- All payments are NON recurring. If you don't want to renew your premium time you don't have to do anything.
